Askrigg > Bed & Breakfast (B&B) > Skeldale House Boutique BB

Skeldale House is a unique boutique styled BandB situated in a wonderful Victorian three storey building in the beautiful quaint village of Askrigg, which itself is surrounded by the outstanding, breathtaking scenery of Wensleydale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. The building itself is very famous and is known the world over as the frontage used for the vets practise in the filming of All Creatures Great and Small. James Herriot, Seigfried Farnon and Tristan all graced the front steps and lead us all to believe they actually lived here. It has undergone a full restoration program and many original features remain including the very famous front door and railings, an impressive staircase, original fireplaces, beautiful moulded plasterwork and very high ceilings. All the rooms offer luxury accommodation where old and new is combined to give each room a completely individual, stylish feel. Antique furniture is mixed with modern features including king sized beds in all but the twin, large flat screen televisions and top of the range white Egyptian cotton bedding. The rooms are large and contain lounge areas where you can relax, watch tv, read or take in the wonderful surrounding views. Separate dressing rooms and ensuite bath or shower rooms give you an added feeling of space.Askrigg itself is very picturesque village, full of rustic charm with its cobbled streets, beautiful church, ancient market cross scattering of shops and three wonderful pubs all serving excellent food. It nestles in the valley between two stunning moors and is a real gem where you'll start to relax and unwind as soon as you arrive. You'll find the village residents extremely friendly with a good morning, afternoon always on the tip of their tongue and a cheery chat in the pubs at night.
